Via Brasil film series
September 2012-April 2014
Wexner Center for the Arts

Thanks to a generous grant from the Mellon Foundation, the Wexner Center was able to undertake a multi-year research project devoted to Brazilian art and cinema. The main outlet for this research was the Cruzamentos exhibition and film series, but a modest number of other Brazilian films were screened to provide additional context for our audience. It was particularly notable to have three generations of Brazil's most significant directors visit (a fourth, Karim Aïnouz, was planned to visit but an injury prevented him from traveling).
